Genie to Hire 110 Team Members for New Weekend ShiftREDMOND, WASH. (Feb. 28, 2006) – To meet market demand, Genie Industries announces the addition of a new weekend shift at its Moses Lake manufacturing facility. The new shift started on Jan.16, 2006. Creating more than 110 new positions, the additional shift presents a significant boon to the local community, allowing Genie to meet its productivity goals and gain market share in its core competency. According to George Santiago, Genie’s Moses Lake operations manager, the new shift will have an immediate impact on Genie’s customers. “There’s a huge demand for Genie products in the marketplace. In order to meet our customers’ needs for high quality, readily available product, we needed to increase production. Running a weekend shift affords us that opportunity." Santiago says new team members undergo a two-week training course. “We took all the necessary steps to make sure this new shift is successful and that our team was ready to hit the ground running from day one." To uncover just the right mix of talent, Genie held a job fair On December 3, 2005, in Moses Lake, Wash. More than 500 people attended the fair. Nearly all of the 110 positions have now been filled.
